Jason Brown is the keyboardist for a major funk fusion band. OK that’s not remotely true, but a guy can dream right? Until he’s invited to the join the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he’s decided to focus on his other love; photography.
Jason loves snapping pics so much, he studied photography at Langara College. Specializing in commercial photography with a focus on architecture, Jason is just as passionate about photographing a rusty garbage can as he is a bomb crib (translation: million-dollar mansion). As long as they have killer lines.
Because Jason believes there is beauty in everything; even if it is a dirty trash bin. His photography is a means to celebrate the ordinary and unseen giving them a platform in which to shine.
You may be wondering what else does Jason like to do? Well, he likes to win. He scores accolades on the regular including nine accreditations and thirteen “Best in Class” awards from Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) and PPOC-BC.
In 2014 and 2015 Jason was the recipient of the “Commercial Photographer of the Year” award from the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). In the fall of 2015 he represented the PPOC at one of the world’s largest photography exhibitions–the Pingyao International Photography Festival in China–where he had five pieces on display.
Jason has worked with everyone from major celebs like Jennifer Hudson and Nelly Furtado to businesses and private clients. As co-owner of Revival Arts, a full service, full-time photography studio, he works with regular everyday folks to focusing on individual portraits so that they can look awesome for social media, talent agencies or even dating sites.
When he’s not busy photographing something awesome, Jason likes to give back to the community through organizations such as Free the Children, Run for Water and Matthew’s House. Otherwise, he can be spotted road cycling, drinking craft beer or hanging out with his three kids.
